We were approached to create a tool to allow sensitivity analysis of the network coverage of a future rail measurement project. This was built in an Excel workbook, and uses VBA to integrate data from a number of sources. A user is able to modify various input parameters, and immediately see the results as pivot tables and other reports update dynamically.
We had previously configured and continue to support an installation of JIRA for a team at Network Rail, but they approached us with a requirement to be able automate the creation of routine maintenance tasks in JIRA. As a piece of in-house development work, we created a scheduling tool which integrates with JIRA via it's APIs. We were able to design a solution that required minimal user interaction, using Meteor JS.
